Preparation and nuclear magnetic resonance spectral analysis of some 1,3,2-dithiaphospholans

Abstract

The preparation of 1,3,2-dithiaphospholans and their 2-oxo- and 2-thioxo-derivatives is described. ¹H and ³¹P N.m.r. data are reported and discussed. The ¹H n.m.r. spectra of four dithiaphospholans have been fully analysed on the basis of an [AB]₂X system, giving values for the ¹H chemical shifts, the (H,H) coupling constants of the CH₂·CH₂ group and the (H,P) coupling constants involving that group.
