Determination of association constants for trimethylsulphonium iodide using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Abstract
The 1H resonances of trimethylsulphonium ion in aqueous and acetonitrile solutions show shifts with added bromide or iodide, which have been interpreted as resulting from ion association. Association constants have been calculated for trimethylsulphonium iodide in water and in acetonitrile at 25°C.
