Photoelectron spectra of the methyl, silyl and germyl derivatives of the group VI elements

Abstract

Photoelectron spectra of (MH3)2Y and MH3SH (M = C,Si,Ge; Y = O,S,Se,Te) have been observed and the bands assigned to the expected valence-shell energy levels. The results are consistent with the existence of (pd)π-bonding for all the compounds with M = Si,Ge.
