Liquid state thermal conductivity of n-paraffin hydrocarbons

Abstract

New measurements on the thermal conductivities of n-butane, n-pentane, n-heptane and n-octane in the liquid state at saturation pressure are reported. The results are discussed in terms of the dependence of thermal conductivity, of n-paraffin hydrocarbons, on chain length using the cell model of the liquid.
