Regiospecificity in photochemical additions to bilirubin. Photoinduced reaction of 2-vinylbiladienes-a,c with the disulphide bond

Abstract

Irradiation of the 2-vinylbiladiene-a,c(IV) in the presence of dimethyl dithiodiglycollate and methyl thioglycollate afforded an addition product (V); this reaction is of interest because of its probable relevance to the photocatabolism of bilirubin.
