A convenient route to three-valent bis-π-cyclopentadienyl niobium hydrides and related derivatives

Abstract

The preparations in good yields of the borohydride (π-C5H5)2NbBH4 and of the hydrides (π-C5H5)2NbH(PR3), R3= Ph3 or PhMe2, are described; the latter hydrides are basic and may be protonated giving the dihydride cations [(π-C5H5)2NbH2(PR3)]+.
