Photochemistry of tricarbonyl(cyclo-octatetraene)iron

Abstract

Tricarbonyl(cyclo-octatetraene)iron undergoes a rapid photochemical conversion into pentacarbonyl (cyclo-octatetraene)di-iron and cyclo-octatetraene in high yield; hexacarbonyl(cyclo-octatetraene)di-iron is also rapidly photochemically converted into pentacarbonyl(cyclo-octatetraene)di-iron.
