Preparation of XeOF3+·Sb2F11 and XeO2F+·Sb2F11. 19F nuclear magnetic resonance and Raman spectra of XeOF3+ and XeO2F+

Abstract

The 19F n.m.r. spectra of solutions in SbF5 and the Raman spectra of the solids show that the compounds XeOF4·2SbF5 and XeO2F2·2SbF5 have the ionic structures XeOF3+·Sb2F11 and XeO2F+·Sb2F11, that the XeOF3+ ion has the expected trigonal bipyramidal AX4E type structure and that the XeO2F+ ion has a pyramidal structure analogous to the isoelectronic XeO3.
