The barrier to pyramidal inversion in isopropylphenyltrimethoxysilylphosphine

Abstract

The decrease in the barrier to pyramidal inversion at phosphorus which is observed when a trimethylsily ligand is replaced by a trimethoxysilyl ligand is ascribed to negative hyperconjugation.
