Intradiffusion of benzene in mixtures with octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane at 25°C

Abstract

Intradiffusion coefficients are reported for benzene in its mixtures with octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane over the whole mole fraction range at 25°C. A preliminary analysis of errors in the diaphragm-cell technique for measuring self-diffusion in benzene is presented and an accurate value for the coefficients reported. The intradiffusion data have been used to calculate friction coefficients of the Onsager, Rik, type.
