The action of cyanamide on 1,3,4-oxadiazolium and pyrylium salts

Abstract

1,3,4-Oxadiazolium salts react with cyanamide in the presence of triethylamine to give good yields of 1-substituted 3-amino-1,2,4-triazoles. Four 2,4,6-triarylpyrylium perchlorates have been converted into 2-amino-3-aroyl-4,6-diarylpyridines in an analogous manner.
