The resolution of 1-bromo-1-chloro-1-fluoroacetone and the preparation of (+)- and (–)-bromochlorofluoromethane
Abstract
1-Bromo-1-chloro-1-fluoroacetone has been resolved into its optical antipodes by means of its ‘menthydrazide’ derivative. The optically active ketones were converted into the active haloforms by use of 9N-potassium hydroxide solution.
