117Sn, 119Sn Satellite spectra and 117,119Sn–H long-range coupling constants in the symmetrical isomers of tetrafuryl- and tetrathienyl-tin

Abstract

The 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra and the 117Sn, 119Sn satellite bands of the two symmetrical isomers of tetrafuryl- and tetrathienyl-tin have been fully analysed. By comparing experimental and simulated spectra it was possible to conclude that the relative signs of J(H–H) are alike and the same holds also for J(117, 119Sn–H) couplings.

Proton chemical shifts seem to indicate that some degree of bonding is present.

A linear relationship between J(117,119Sn–H) of the present compounds and the corresponding J(H–H) of furan and thiophen has been observed.
