Vibrational spectra and structure of the rhodizonate dianion
Abstract
The i.r. (100–4000 cm–1) and laser Raman spectra of several salts of rhodizonic acid (5,6-dihydroxycyclohex-5-ene-1,2:3,4-diquinone) have been recorded. The observed spectra are consistent with a planar symmetric resonance-stabilized structure (D6h) for the C6O62– ion.
