Reactions of [acetoxy(2-furyl)carbene]pentacarbonylchromium

Abstract

The preparation of the title compound, (I), is reported. The reactions of (I) with alcohols, phenolate ion, thiols, thioacetic acid, amines, ammonia, and phenylethylnyl-lithium are described. The title compound reacts with hydrazoic acid to give [(2-furonitrile)Cr(CO)5] and the mechanism of this process is discussed.
