Spectral intensities of the trivalent lanthanides. Part I. Solution spectra of heteropoly-complexes of Pr3+ and Ho3+

Abstract

The intensities of the solution spectra of a number of complexes of Pr3+ and Ho3+ are discussed in terms of the Judd–Ofelt theory. While the theory can account well for the intensities of the Ho3+ complexes it is inadequate for those of Pr3+. Hypersensitivity is briefly considered in connection with the complexes studied.
