Preparation and substitution reactions of bis(glycinato)palladium(II) complexes

Abstract

Preparative methods for cis- and trans-bis(glycinato)palladium(II) and the properties of these complexes have been reinvestigated. The isomerisation of the cis-complex, the reactions of both isomers in aqueous perchloric acid, and the reactions of [Pd(NH2·CH2·CO2)Cl2] with HCl have been studied kinetically. The mechanisms of these reactions are discussed in relation to substitution reactions of other palladium(II) complexes containing chelate ligands.
