Kinetics of the formation of the donor–acceptor complex between tetracyanoethylene and hexamethylbenzene in solution studied by a microwave temperature-jump method

Abstract

The rate constant for the formation of the donor-acceptor complex between tetracyanoethylene and hexamethylbenzene in 1-chlorobutane at –83° is (1·45 ± 0·3)× 108 1 mol–1 s–1, about 10 times less than the value calculated for diffusion control.
