Interaction of hydridocarbonyltriphenylphosphineiridium(I) complexes with alk-1-ynes

Abstract

Reaction of aliphatic alk-1-ynes with IrH(CO)(PPh3)3 or IrH(CO)2(PPh3)2 results in loss of hydrogen and formation of novel acetylides Ir(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CR)(CO)(PPh3)2 or 3: the square bistriphenylphosphine species undergo a wide range of oxidative-addition reactions.
