The preparation and properties of binuclear rhenium µ-nitrido-complexes [(PEt2Ph)3X2Re![[triple bond, length half m-dash]](https://www.rsc.org/images/entities/char_e007.gif)
N→L][X = Cl, L = BF3, BCl3, BBr3, PtCl2(PEt3); X = Br, L = BCl3, BBr3], are reported. The similarity between the co-ordinative ability of the nitrogen in [(PEt2Ph)3Cl2ReN] and organic nitriles is noted.
