Synthesis of γ-methyl-γ-peroxyvalerolactone, its thermolysis and photolysis

Abstract

The diradical generated by thermolysis and photolysis of γ-methyl-γ-peroxyvalerolactone is shown to fragment into acetone, ethylene, and 2,2-dimethyloxetan.
