The thermodynamics of ideal multi-component micelles is discussed. This is an alternative approach to that given previously,1 and is developed in a similar manner to surface thermodynamics. The difficulties in treating non-ideal micelles are outlined. The assumptions involved in regarding the micelles as a separate phase, and the Krafft point and meaning of the c.m.c for multi-component micelles are considered.
