Organotin chemistry. Part VIII. Functionally substituted distannathianes and tristannathianes
Abstract
Alkyltin halides and related compounds, R4–nSnXn(n= 2 or 3′; R = Me, Bu, or Ph; X = F, Cl, Br, I, SCN, OMe, or carboxylate) readily react with (trimeric) dialkyltin sulphides, R′2SnS (R′= Me or Bu), to give functionally substituted distannathianes Xn–1R4–nSn·S·SnR′2X and tristannathianes, Xn–1R4–nSn·S·SnR′2·S·SnR2′X.
