Some New Products Prom the Reaction of Colupulone with Persulphate

Abstract

Two new products from the reaction of colupulone with persulphate are described. The compounds are formed by loss of an isopentenyl side chain and/or cyclisation of a residual side chain to give dihydropyran or 2-(1-hydroxy-1-methyl)dihydrofuran ring systems. Full experimental details are given for these and other related products whose structures have been reported previously.
