A fluorine-19 nuclear magnetic resonance study of inductive and mesomeric effects in tertiary phosphine gold phenyl complexes
Abstract
From a study of the 19F n.m.r. chemical shifts of meta- and para-fluorophenyl gold(I) phosphine complexes it has been deduced that the π-acceptor order of the phosphines is (PhO)3P > (C6F5)Ph2P > Ph3P ≈ Ph2EtP ≈(p-MeC6H4)3P > PhMe2P ≈ Et3P ≈ Bu3P.
