Thermochemical and spectroscopic properties of transition-metal complexes. Part II. Cobalt complexes of the type CoL2X2(L =o-, m-, or p-fluoroaniline, and X = chlorine, bromine, or iodine)

Abstract

The title compounds have been prepared and the heats of decomposition of the solid compounds have been determined by differential scanning calorimetry. The electronic spectra of the solid compounds have been recorded and the ligand-field parameters have been derived. These parameters have been compared with the differences in the heats of dissociation of the compounds.
