Low temperature proton magnetic resonance study of the fluxional molecule tricarbonylcyclo-octatetraeneosmium

Abstract

A detailed analysis of the limiting low temperature 1H n.m.r. spectrum of tricarbonylcyclo-octatetraeneosmium as an eight-spin system is described, and the nature of the intramolecular process, which results in the observation of only a single line 1H n.m.r. spectrum at room temperature, is discussed.
