The conformational equilibria of peracylated D-aldopentopyranosyl derivatives. Relative anomeric effect of various groups and the influence of configuration and solvent

Abstract

The conformational equilibria of a wide range of peracylated D-aldopentopyranosyl derivatives in solution have been measured by n.m.r. spectroscopy, and the results obtained are discussed in terms of steric and electronic effects.
