A carbon monoxide insertion reaction on an evaporated iron surface

Abstract

In direct analogy to insertion reactions of co-ordination complexes, the reaction of carbon monoxide with a surface alkyl has been shown to occur on an evaporated iron surface to produce a propoxide species.
