The crystal structure of µ-formato-monodiethyl-enetriaminecopper(II) formate has been determined and shown to contain a square-pyramidal stereochemistry: the single-crystal electronic properties indicate a oneelectron orbital sequence dx2–y2 > dz2 > dxy > dxz > dyz consistent with the low axial distortion present.
