The isomeric heterogeneity of biliverdin dimethyl ester derived from bilirubin

Abstract

Dehydrogenation of bilirubin with benzoquinone in acetic acid, followed by methylation, gives three isomeric biliverdin dimethyl esters, structures for which are suggested.
