Thiourea complexes of tin(II) compounds
The solid products obtained from the tin(II)–thiourea (tu)–anion systems (anion = Cl–, Br–, l–, SO42–, ClO4–, BF4–, HCO2–, MeCO2–, CH2ClCO2–, and SO3NH2–) are described and the following complexes are reported: Sn tu Cl2; Sn2 tu5Cl4,2H2O; Sn tu Br2; Sn2 tu5Br4; Sn tu I2; Sn tu2SO4; Sn tu5SO4; Sn tu3ClO4; Sn tu6(BF4)2; Sn tu (HCO2)2; Sn tu (MeCO2)2; Sn tu2(CH2Cl·CO2)2 and Sn tu5(SO3NH2)2,H2O. The pyrolysis of these materials distinguishes the complexes with weak and strong Sn–S bonds. The i.r. and 119Sn Mössbauer data for the materials are given and are interpreted in terms of the formation and structure of the thiourea complexes of the tin(II) compounds. These data show that the Sn–S bonds are strong in the halide and sulphate complexes but weak in the carboxylate, sulphamate, borofluoride, and perchlorate complexes.
