Iron and palladium complexes from azobenzenes and o-diaminobenzene
Abstract
Azobenzene and substituted azobenzenes react with carbonyls of iron to give mono-, di-, and tri-iron carbonyl derivatives. The first contain the metal σ-bonded to one of the aromatic rings; the di- and probably also the tri-iron complexes contain the rearranged skeleton of o-semidine. Bisazoarene complexes are formed from the azoarenepalladium chlorides by reaction with disodium tetracarbonylferrate.
