Nitrenes. Part III. The reaction of 4-(2-nitrophenyl)pyridine derivatives with triethyl phosphite

Abstract

Reductive cyclisation of 4-(2-nitrophenyl)pyridine derivatives by triethyl phosphite afforded β-carboline and benzo[c][2,7]naphthyridine derivatives, the structures of which were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.
