Raman spectra of some tertiary phosphine complexes of rhodium, iridium, palladium, and platinum

Abstract

The Raman spectra of some platinum(IV) complexes cis- and trans-[PtX4L2], of an iridium analogue, and of cis- and trans-[PtX2L2] and of a palladium analogue (X = halogen and L = tertiary phosphine) are discussed in relation to their known configurations and their i.r. spectra. The spectra of fac- and mer-[MX3L3](M = Rh or Ir; X = halogen; L = tertiary phosphine) are described in less detail.
