Preparation and properties of some trifluorosilyl pseudohalides

Abstract

Trifluorosilyl isocyanate, isothiocyanate, and isoselenocyanate have been prepared by the reaction of gaseous trifluorosilyl bromide with solid silver cyanate and thiocyanate, and mercury(II) selenocyanate respectively. The 19F n.m.r., i.r., and mass spectra are reported.
