cis-Hydridohalides of platinum(II)
Abstract
Low-pressure hydrogenolysis of the platinum–silicon complex, (Ph2P·CH2·CH2·PPh2)Pt(SiMe3)Cl yields the cis-hydridoplatinum chloride, (Ph2P·CH2·CH2·PPh2)Pt(H)Cl. A re-investigation of the compounds reported to be cis- and trans-(Ph3P)2Pt(H)Cl by using i.r. and 1H n.m.r. spectroscopy shows that they are different crystallo-graphic forms of the trans-isomer.
