The preparation and magnetic properties of some Schiff-base–iron(III) carboxylate complexes
Abstract
The preparation and magnetic susceptibilities over the temperature range 80–300°K of some iron(III)–Schiff-base carboxylate complexes are reported. On the basis of their magnetic susceptibilities, the compounds have been separated into two classes: those which are magnetically dilute and those which show the presence of magnetic exchange. By analogy with the Schiff-base–iron(III) halides the former are postulated to be monomeric, whilst the latter are assumed to be dimeric in the solid state.
