Reactions of isopropyl radicals in the presence of gaseous caesium

Abstract

Isopropyl radicals are produced by photolysis of 2,2′-azopropane. In the presence of caesium vapour, high values for the disproportionation: combination ratio are observed. The intermediate formation of a caesium alkyl may account for this observation.
