Nitration of p-quaterphenyl
Abstract
Nitration of p-quaterphenyl with acetyl nitrate generated in situ affords 4-nitro- and 4,4′-dinitro-quarter-phenyl, no products of ortho- or meta-nitration of inner or outer rings being detected.
