Cyclic thioanhydrides: potentially versatile functional-groups in organic synthesis

Abstract

Some simple high-yield conversions of a cyclic thioanhydride into a diketone, keto-acid, sulphide, alcohol-thiol, dialdehyde, and lactone are described.
