Ten-co-ordinate thorium: the crystal structure of potassium thorium tetroxalate tetrahydrate
Abstract
The thorium atoms in K4Th(C2O4)4,4H2O are each surrounded by ten oxygens at the vertices of a bicapped square antiprism; this co-ordination number is achieved by oxalate bridging, the resulting chains being cross-linked by hydrogen bonding.
