cis-Chromindogenide reacted nonstereospecifically with methylene iodide/zinc–copper couple to form trans-2-phenylcyclopropyl-1-spiro-3-chromanone—the cyclopropyl ketone also formed in the Simmons–Smith reaction of trans-chromindogenide.
