Structure of 2A2 excited state of chlorine dioxide

Abstract

The excited 2A2 state of ClO2 has the non-linear, symmetrical structure re(ClO)= 1·619 Å, θe= 107° 0′, contrary to earlier suggestions that the ClO bond distances are unequal.
