Stereochemistry of the homogeneous disproportionation of pent-2-ene

Abstract

Disproportionation of pent-2-ene with a soluble molybdenum catalyst shows unique stereo-selectivity which can be rationalized in terms of a molybdenum–diolefin complex intermediate.
