The flame-photometric determination of sodium in high purity water
Abstract
In connection with an investigation of the performance of sodium-responsive glass electrodes, an independent method was required for determining the sodium content of water (0 to 50 µg of sodium per litre). A flame-photometric technique was used for this purpose; details of the technique and its performance are given. Special attention was given to the problem of accurately calibrating the flame photometer and, to this end, a new technique has been evolved.
