Polarographic studies in molten LiNO3+ NaNO3+ KNO3. Part 3.—Adsorption of complex Ions at the D.M.E.
Abstract
The maxima observed on d.c. polarograms, for some metal- and halide-ion solutions in these melts, have been investigated. These maxima do not in general resemble the classical kind, mainly observed in aqueous solutions. In this study, they are related to adsorption processes involving complex ions present in the bulk solution. The electrode processes may behave in an ideally reversible manner in the region of the maxima. A tentative explanation in terms of this model is also put forward.
