Fluorescence of nitric oxide. Part 5.—Mean lifetime in the D2Σ+ state

Abstract

Rate coefficients for deactivation of NOD2Σ+(v= 0) by Ar, N2, CO2, He and NO were determined by measurement of the true quenching half-pressures for the ε-bands and calculation of the radiative lifetime. The ε-fluorescence was not quenched with a magnetic field of 7 kgauss.
