Treatment of 11β-amino-5α-androstane, 11α-amino-5α-androstane, and 3β-amino-5α-cholestane with acetone and with ethyl methyl ketone gives the corresponding ketimines. Reduction of the ketimines gives the secondary amines. The 1H n.m.r. spectra of the compounds are discussed.
