Flavomannin, a metabolite of a strain of Penicillium wortmanni Klöck., is shown to be 5,5′,6,6′-tetrahydro-1,1′,3,3′,6,6′,9,9′-octahydroxy-6,6′-dimethyl-2,2′-bianthracene-8(7H),8′(7′H)-dione (XIIIa).
